Invitation to Collaborate: Fellowship by the DNS School of Digital Governance (2026).

Dear Chapter Leadership,

On behalf of Digital Space for Digital Governance and the Success Bridge Community Development Foundation, I am reaching out to invite the Internet Society Chapters in Africa to join a strategic multi-stakeholder collaboration for the upcoming DNS School of Digital Governance Fellowship, launching this year.

As the global landscape for internet governance becomes increasingly fragmented, the need for localized expertise and a unified multi-stakeholder voice has never been more critical. We believe your chapter’s commitment to an open, globally connected, and secure internet makes you an ideal partner for this initiative.

The Vision

The 2026 Fellowship is designed to bridge the gap between technical DNS management and high-level digital policy. Our goal is to empower a global cohort of fellows who can advocate for sound governance frameworks within their respective regions.

Why Partner with Us?

By joining this collaboration, your Chapter will play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of digital leaders. Partnering Chapters will have the opportunity to:

  • Co-Brand the Initiative: Feature your Chapter’s logo on official fellowship materials and the global press release.
  • Nominate Fellows: Gain priority placement for select members of your community to join the cohort.
  • Provide Mentorship: Offer your Chapter’s subject matter experts as guest speakers or mentors, showcasing your local technical and policy leadership.
  • Strengthen Local Impact: Use the fellowship curriculum to spark local dialogues and initiatives within your region.

Role of a Collaborating Chapter

We are looking for ISOC Chapters to support the fellowship through:

  1. Outreach: Promoting the call for applications to your local membership and networks.
  2. Contextualization: Helping us ensure the curriculum remains relevant to the specific digital challenges faced in your region.
  3. Engagement: Participating in at least one virtual regional roundtable during the program.

Next Steps

We would love to schedule a brief 15-minute call with your leadership team to discuss how we can best align this fellowship with your Chapter’s 2026 goals.

Please let us know your availability, or simply reply to this post expressing your interest, and we will share the full Partnership Concept Note.

Together, we can ensure that the future of digital governance is inclusive, technical, and community-driven.

Warm regards,

Dr. Adebunmi Akinbo DIIHP amCPN smCIPDM
