LOS ANGELES — March 19, 2026 — The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) has officially opened the application round for the ICANN Fellowship Program ahead of the ICANN87 Annual General Meeting.
The conference is scheduled to take place from October 17–22, 2026, in Muscat, Oman. In the event that ICANN87 transitions to a virtual format, the Fellowship Program will also proceed virtually. Interested candidates have until April 19, 2026, at 23:59 UTC to submit their applications. Selected fellows will be publicly announced on the ICANN website on June 18, 2026.
About the ICANN Fellowship Program
The ICANN Fellowship Program aims to strengthen diversity and inclusion within the Internet governance ecosystem. It targets individuals from underserved and underrepresented communities, fostering opportunities for participants to become active contributors to ICANN’s multistakeholder model.
The program is open to both newcomers and individuals already engaged in key technical and governance areas, including:
- Policy development
- Domain Name System (DNS) operations
- Global Internet security and stability
