The African Union (AU), in partnership with its mission to the United Nations, hosted a Talent Engagement Session in New York on March 18, 2025. Held alongside the 69th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW69), the event aimed to connect with the African diaspora and professionals from underrepresented AU member states, promoting career opportunities within the AU.
A central theme was youth empowerment. The AU showcased initiatives like the AU Academy Program and the Youth Volunteer Program, designed to equip young Africans with practical experience, leadership skills, and the tools to tackle Africa’s challenges. The session underscored the AU’s commitment to creating pathways for young talent to flourish and become future leaders.
Furthermore, the AU reiterated its dedication to bridging representation gaps by actively seeking talent from underrepresented member states. This effort ensures that AU institutions reflect the diversity of Africa’s voices, fostering unity, inclusivity, and sustainable development.
