Internet Society: Community Week 2022 kicks off soon.
The Internet Society is an American nonprofit advocacy organization founded in 1992 with local chapters around the world. Its mission is “to promote the open development, evolution, and use of the Internet for the benefit of all people throughout the world.”
Community Week 2022 will take place on 6-7 September. It will bring together an entire community of Internet heroes worldwide. Internet Society members—individuals, organizations, chapters, special interest groups, and standing groups—will celebrate our collective work to build and protect the Internet.
2022 also marks the Internet Society’s 30th anniversary, an occasion to consider how it ensure that great works continues and that the Internet is even more reliable, more resilient, and reaches more places 30 years from now.
Internet Society members should have received an invitation by email. New Members are always welcome to join the society. Interested, but not an Internet Society member yet? Please join now! They look forward to having you as a member of its global community!
Community Week will take place at different times each day to cover different time zones:
At the Opening Ceremony, you will hear from one of the founders of the Internet, Vint Cerf, and two pioneers of Internet development and expansion throughout Africa and Asia, Nii Quaynorand Kanchana Kanchanasut. The panel will be expertly moderated by the Internet Society’s Youth Standing Group Chair, Ms. Veronica Piccolo.
This session is one session you will not wish to miss!
DNS Africa will be represented by the Vice-Chair of the Chapter Advisory Council, Adebunmi Adeola Akinbo. We look forward to a successful event.
