The digital divide continues to be a formidable challenge, hindering economic growth and social development in many parts of Africa. To address this, the CN Digital Access Coalition (DAC) is launching an initiative to accelerate digital inclusion and connectivity throughout the continent. We believe that local leadership and collaborative action are key to building a robust, resilient, and inclusive digital ecosystem.
Our Mission:
The DAC project aims to enhance internet access, promote digital literacy, and support the development of local content and infrastructure. The Role:
We are seeking dedicated and capable organizations to serve as Regional Coordinators. This is a pivotal role, responsible for driving the implementation of DAC initiatives and fostering a vibrant network of partners within their respective African regions. The Regional Coordinators will be crucial in:
- Mobilizing local partners: Engaging with NGOs, non-profits, government bodies, and ISPs to create a unified and collaborative effort.
- Facilitating communication and knowledge sharing: Acting as a central hub for sharing best practices, resources, and insights within the region.
- Supporting capacity development: Organizing workshops, training programs, and events to build local skills and expertise.
- Monitoring and evaluating progress: Tracking the impact of DAC initiatives and providing valuable feedback to inform future strategies.
Who Should Apply:
We invite applications from two main categories of organizations:
- Partners: NGOs and non-profit organizations with a strong track record of working in community development, digital advocacy, or technology education.
- Collaborations: Government agencies, regulatory bodies, and Internet Service Providers (ISPs) that can provide strategic leadership and infrastructure support.
Requirements:
Interested organizations should meet the following criteria:
- A proven commitment to digital inclusion and development in Africa.
- Strong organizational capacity and a successful track record in project management and coordination.
- An existing network of partners and stakeholders within their region.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
