In a Press Release dated June 28, 2024, on the Africa Top Level Domains [AfTLD] website by the Project Coordinator, Stacy Ayoo Owango, it’s confirmed that changes are taking place in the Organization Executive Committee. The representative of country code Top Level Domain (ccTLD) managers from Africa announced Mrs. Eyitayo Iyortim from Nigeria (.NG), as the Chairperson of the Executive Committee and President of the Organization.

Eyitayo is a psychologist, human resource management specialist, and ICT project manager with close to 30 years of experience in project management, education and training, ICT sales and operations, organizational development, and human resource management. Her professional achievements include building IT transformation programs for employees of some of the largest organizations in the public and private sectors in Nigeria, including NNPC, NLNG, CBN, FIRS, and Dangote Industries.

She recently led the Secretariat of the Nigerian Internet Registration Association (NiRA), managers of the Country Code Top-Level Domain (ccTLD) as Chief Operating Officer, and served as a member of the Multi-Stakeholder Advisory Group (MAG) of the Nigerian Internet Governance Forum (NiGF) and the Conference Planning Committee of the Country Code Names Supporting Organisation (ccNSO), one of the supporting organizations of the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), involved in further development of Internet policies.

Eyitayo is a member of the Advisory Board of the Fatimah Balaraba Foundation. She currently serves as Managing Partner at Talent Urbanity Limited. She works as a therapist at an organizational development startup, Whetstone Coaching, and leads a women’s Bible study called Regenerate, which spawned a Bible-based mentoring program called Carmel.

Eyitayo holds a Master’s in Organizational Psychology from the prestigious Alliance Manchester Business School. She is a Certified Cognitive Behavioral Therapist and also knows Competency and Personality Testing, Project Management, and Life Coaching. She is a member of the Nigerian Association of Life Coaches, Internet Association, and American Psychological Association. Eyitayo is invited to conduct leadership change programs, strategy meetings, and organizational redesign programs in many economic sectors to transform the strategic direction of organizations. She has spoken at numerous forums focusing on policy formulation, women’s development, technology advancements, internet governance, and youth mentoring.

In executing her assignment, Mrs. Eyitayo Iyortim as the Chairperson of the Executive Committee and President of the Organization will be deputized by Prof. Idrissa Sarr (Vice-President), Manager of the .SN ccTLD. Mr. Joel Karubiu from Kenya (.KE) will continue as the Treasurer.

The newly elected Executive Committee members are Mr. Molehe Wesi, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) .ZA Domain Name Authority (.ZA) and Deo Gratias Tonouhewa, Manager JenySAS operator (.BJ). Other members of the Executive Committee include Ms. Grace Ingabire, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Rwanda Information and Communications Technology Alliance (.RW), and Mr. Molupe Molupe, Manager of Lesotho Network Information Centre (.LS).

Africa Top Level Domains Organization (AFTLD) is the association of country code top level domain registry (ccTLD) managers in the Africa region. The main objective of AfTLD is to help African ccTLD managers discuss issues regarding the management of ccTLDs. AFTLD also presents a common position arrived at by African ccTLDs on key global issues in the Domain Name System (DNS) industry at the global level.

AfTLD is recognized as the representative of country code Top Level Domain (ccTLD) managers from the Africa region by ICANN and other related global organizations. It is an active participant in the ICANN ccNSO, and also actively participates in various Internet governance fora, including the IGF, where it has run a number of workshops..

AfTLD works in collaboration and in partnership with other Regional Top Level Domain Organizations (RTLDOs), that is APTLD, CENTR and LACTLD.

AfTLD is an observer to the European ccTLD association (CENTR). It regularly works in partnership with other common interest organizations, including ISOC and NSRC.
